A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit us at last months Muslim Lifestyle Show in London. It was lovely meeting so many of you. We got to catch up with many of our existing stockists and retailers as well as new customers. Feedback we receive from the visitors is always amazing and makes all the hard work and effort worthwhile. A big thank you also to the lovely press people and bloggers for promoting our brand. We are always very humbled and honoured for this exposure.
I am honoured to be a part of this panel at Cass Business School on Monday 27th of March, where I will debate trends, barriers, opportunities and support to female entrepreneurship. Although female entrepreneurship has been on the rise globally for the last 10 years or so. Despite this positive trend, women still find it difficult to launch and grow their business ideas.
Speaking about the Rise of Female Muslim Entrepreneurs at Muslim Aids Charity event
It has been quite hectic lately as we are in full swing and almost ready to launch our Eid & Ramadan collections. Amongst all the chaos, I have been taking my role as a mentor to start up businesses very seriously and feel a real sense of satisfation and hope for these budding entrepreneurs inspite us going through some very challenging and unpredictable times.
On a different note, it has been a real privilege to be asked to talk about my entrepreneurial journey to various publications, news agencies and more recently at a major charity event held by Muslim Aid in London. I felt extremely honoured and humbled to being a part of this very worthy cause. Alhamdulillah the charity exceeded their target in raising funds for Syria.
I was also extremely touched to be asked by one of our very lovely stockists Anafiya Gifts to feature in their Muslimah Mumprenuer series, which I happily agreed to. You can read the full interview by clicking on this link. Also check out their website for some inspiring Islamic gifts, books and stationery.
So our comapny has had its fair share of press and media coverage these past few months. The ' Muslim Mumpreneur ' and ' The Rise of the Female Muslim Mumpreneur ' topic has been quite a hot one in the in the press lately! Rightlyfully so as it is estimated that currently in the UK 50% of Muslim start up businesses are ran by females Muslimahs. Now that is quite a high figure and it is set to rise!
Alamdulillah, the outcome of all this media coverage has been extremely positive for our company (would love to share more ..... but can't at this point!). You can read our full BBC article here and our Telegraph interview here.
This weekend we exhibited at The Muslim Lifestyle Expo at the Event City in Manchester. We were super excited yet equally nervous as we were officially launching two new products: Mugs and Scented candles. Excited as we were entering a new territory in home and gifts whereas nervous at the same time as we had little to no idea as what reception to expect.
Alhamdulillah with the grace of The All Mighty, the new launch has recieved a roaring reception. We completely sold out of the greeting cards and came back home with very few mugs and candles (one customer even bought the sample candle!).
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you who came to our stand and made it the success that it was. We have had an overwhelming response in trade orders and enquires, some amazing offers ...watch this space Insha'Allah! and above all an amazing time meeting and greeting fellow exhibitors.
Last but not least a huge, huge thank you to Team MLE for pulling off such a brilliantly organised event. They are such a dedicated team of lovely people and we look forward to exhibiting with them soon Insha'Allah.
